I didn’t start in tech. That’s the point.
I went from Jungle Cruise skipper to client and account management, then change management and consulting. A weekend of curiosity turned me into a citizen developer, a Power Platform Solution Architect, an AI Solution Architect, and a Microsoft 365 Copilot MVP.
Early on I felt like a beginner who was expected to be the expert, and I was removed from my first project at the client’s request. I stopped waiting for a path and started building my own. A LinkedIn Learning video showed me how to save receipts to OneDrive with Power Automate, and that small win gave me the confidence to keep going. My change management background turned out to be a real advantage.
When Copilot licenses rolled out, I started the Insight Sessions: a 10-minute lesson on one Copilot feature, then practice in breakout rooms. My business unit ended up with more Copilot licenses than any other in the practice.
